Battery Backup and Smart Panels

We install and commission whole-home battery systems: smart home panels, battery units, and smart inlet boxes, set where you want them rather than where they are easiest to mount. For these projects, we always make sure to simulate an outage and watch the house transfer to battery to ensure it is ready for the real deal.

Solar Tie-Ins

Inverters, DC and AC disconnects, conduit, and the interconnection at the panel, along with the permit and the inspection. If your panel has no room for a solar backfeed, that is a conversation to have before the array is ordered. The panel page covers what that involves.

Generators and Inlet Boxes

Standby generators, automatic transfer switches, interlock kits, and exterior inlet boxes have a page of their own. If you are weighing a battery against a generator, call and we will talk through both. They suit different outages and different houses, and we install either.

Yes, we charge for one hour at our hourly rate at a minimum. However, we typically provide flat-rate pricing for fixed scope jobs so that you know exactly what you will when you agree to go with us. Ask when you call and we will explain how we will price your job and answer any questions.

Sometimes they chirp not only due to low battery, but because they are at the end of their service life. Alarms have a service life of about ten years and then start chirping at the end of it. Check the date stamped on the back of the unit. If it is a decade old, the whole set is due, and they should be replaced together so they stay interconnected.

Yes, for the electrical side: smart switches and dimmers, line-voltage thermostats, video doorbell transformers, and power for cameras. We will get the device working and connected.

We can, and often do low-voltage work that goes with electrical such as doorbells, alarm interconnects, camera and sensor power. However, structured data cabling and home theater wiring are a different specialty, and for a whole-house network you are likely better served by someone who does only that.

Yes, and it comes up most often when someone is selling. We assess what is there, list what has to change to make it compliant, pull a permit for the corrective work, and get it inspected, so it is documented rather than disclosed as unknown.
